Jakarta - It is estimated that around US$42 million will be spent for security in Financial sector made by small and middle time corporation through Asia Pacific, excluding Japanese.
Comparing to last year around US$ 30 million spent to purchase financial security software, the number increase 40% this year.
Diana Ng, an analyst from Access Markets International (AMI) Research Company, said that all the small and middle corporations have to strengthen their security program regarding sensitivity and secrecy of the data.
“Besides protecting worm and virus attack, those companies also had to strengthen their defenses from hacker and phisher attack,” according to Diana in the press conference AMI Partners, yesterday.
It is estimated that more than 60% of the increased shopping number in Asia came from small and middle corporations. In this vertical segment, 33% from US$30 million spent on IT security, especially in buying antivirus and firewall.
According to her, as a part of the buying for basic antivirus and firewall, small and middle financial corporations need to invest their money on security, such as interference detector and content management software.
Since those companies are going to build e-commerce and online-banking program, they had to make sure the security on the client name, password and detail data in book banking is save in their financial system.
“This is urgent business since the increase report on bank and credit card Issuer Company, which already become the victim of hacker and phisher global network. Financial company had to have a stronger security program.”
Maintainance
She continued to speak about the importance of maintaining and renewing the hardware and software as a way to defense the company from new attack from virus or online scamming.
“If those companies forgot one of these things, they are risking their companies' lives,” said Diana.
Platform Strategy Manager Business and Marketing Organization from Microsoft Indonesia, Subhan Novianda, said that the purchase of IT security in financial sector is around 5 to 10% in Indonesia.
