PT. Microsoft Indonesia and Information Technology Magister University Of Gajah Mada ( UGM ) Yogyakarta officially open Microsoft Innovation Center Development ( MIC ). The center will facilicate government, scientist dan local software vendor to do research, technology and software development.

"Microsoft Inovation Center (MIC) proves Microsoft commitment under Local Software Economy Development ( LSED ) initiative to support local software industry. We expect that MIC  can help scientist, start-up local software company, softare enterpreneur,developeran and government to collaborate to produce  innovation solution in global market," said Ari Kunwidodo, Director of Microsoft Indonesia.

The presence of Microsoft Inovation Center will support government programs to develop ICT Park in four big universities in Indonesia includes UGM, from human resources development, local software development  research and new technology research and its implementation in the real world.

According to Risman Adnan Mattotorang,  a Senior Developer Evangelist Microsoft Indonesia, MIC is a part of global initiative of Microsoft Corporation. "At this time we have 70 MIC's around the world. We have MIC's in Brazil, Germany, South Africa and Japan. There are more 20 different name for those research centers, which will be named as Microsoft Innovation Center in the next 6 - 12 month. MIC at MTI-UGM is the 3rd institution which have Microsoft Innovation Center in Indonesia," he said.

Microsoft Indonesia, is a part of Microsoft Corporation and established in 1975.
