Jakarta, April 11th — By end of January 2007, the most significant product launch in Microsoft history culminated with the release of Windows Vista", the 2007 Microsoft® Office System and Exchange Server 2007 for consumers around the world. The two flagship products will be available to consumers, starting tomorrow, in retail stores in 70 countries, including Indonesia, at more than 39,000 retail shops, and online, which will be available in 18 languages (expected for release in 99 different languages by end of this year).
Speaking at the launching of these two flagship products in Jakarta today, Ari Kunwidodo, Vice President of PT Microsoft Indonesia, explained that Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 were designed to transform the way people use technology, both to work and as a form of lifestyle. “With unprecedented feedback from our loyal customers and partners built into product development, we are confident that Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 deliver significant advancements that can fulfill customer need and aspiration.
The launch witnessed Microsoft's great achievement in the collaboration between Microsoft and its costumers to make personal computer use become easier, safer, and more entertaining compared to previous years.
New Opportunities
Windows Vista and the 2007 Office System have enjoyed early success in Asia Pacific since its launch among business customers. In their first months of public launch, Windows Vista has generated sales of over 20 million licenses. This is more than twice the number generated from the sale of the previous product, the Windows XP. This sales volume reflected a high interest in security level and Windows Vista application. Additionally, thousands of PC manufacturers and systems builders in the world will send Windows Vista operational systems and Microsoft Office 2007 in their new PC.
